The bond of sibling love blossomed at the shelter during the Amma Nanna Anadha Ashramam Rakhi celebration. Lakshmi Prasanna, a kind-hearted woman who had previously visited the shelter and become a sister figure to Venkatesh-a resident there-returned for this special Amma Nanna Ashramam Raksha Bandhan event to share her sisterly affection; she gifted him new clothes, tied the Rakhi, and conveyed festival greetings.

Having visited the shelter every Raksha Bandhan since 2021 to tie the Rakhi for Venkatesh, Lakshmi Prasanna came again this year to meet him and present him with new clothes as part of the Amma Nanna Ashram Choutuppal NGO Rakhi tradition. Venkatesh was overjoyed to wear the clothes gifted by his sister and happily had the Rakhi tied by her.

Lakshmi Prasanna fed sweets to her brother, blessed him with akshintalu (sacred rice grains), and gifted him his favorite biscuits and chocolates. On this occasion, the shelter staff, viewing Lakshmi Prasanna as a sister visiting her parental home for the festival, honored her with new clothes.

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshmi Prasanna remarked that she would not feel she had truly celebrated the Rakhi festival if she did not visit and tie the Rakhi to Venkatesh, whom she considers a brother. She said, "My name is Lakshmi Prasanna, and I come from Hyderabad. I first visited this place in 2018, and that was when I formed a deep emotional connection with Venkatesh." Since 2021, she has made it a tradition to come here and tie the Rakhi; only then does she feel her Rakhi celebrations have truly begun and feel complete and joyful.

I look forward to tying the Rakhi every year with such excitement-eagerly waiting for the moment I can see Venkatesh and tie the Rakhi. At the same time, he always remembers me fondly each year. While I arrive with great excitement, I feel a sense of sadness when leaving, wondering when I will return.

Let us hope that the bond between Venkatesh-who lost his mother in childhood and lives in an ashram-and Lakshmi Prasanna, who has become a sister figure to him, remains strong and enduring forever.
