The 80th Independence Day celebrations were held grandly at Amma Nanna Orphanage in Choutuppal. On this occasion, tributes were paid to the great personalities who sacrificed their lives for the nation by remembering their invaluable services. Later, the founder of the orphanage, Sri Shankar Guruji, hoisted the Tricolour flag and led the flag salutation ceremony.
Orphans residing at the ashram and the staff participated in the programme and paid their respects to the national flag. The ashram was filled with a festive atmosphere with patriotic songs and celebrations.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, a team from Kakatiya High School in Choutuppal visited Amma Nanna Orphanage. Teachers and students arrived at the ashram carrying national flags. They then visited the accommodation rooms and warmly interacted with the residents, presenting Tricolour flags to them.
The students and teachers also visited the orphans receiving treatment at the ashram hospital. They enquired about their health and spent time speaking with them affectionately. During the cultural programmes organised on the occasion, the students enthusiastically participated and showcased their talents. The orphans at the ashram watched the students' performances and patriotic songs with great interest.
The celebrations concluded with everyone sharing Annadanam and receiving prasadam. Such initiatives reflect the spirit of Annadanam donation at Chouttupal, where food and care are shared with people who need support.
Speaking on the occasion, teachers from Kakatiya High School said, “We are very happy to have come to Amma Nanna Orphanage on August 15 and organised a programme with our students among people who have no family members of their own. We brought students from the Kakatiya Nagar branch with the intention of teaching children about moral values, responsibility and humanity.
Usually, we celebrate festivals with our family members and friends. But this time, we feel fortunate to have visited Amma Nanna Orphanage and celebrated Independence Day together with the residents here. On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, it gave us immense happiness to distribute national flags to everyone at the ashram through our students. We also encourage our children to remember the residents here and visit the ashram to celebrate their birthdays and other special family occasions.
We had heard about Amma Nanna Orphanage in the past. However, after visiting the ashram personally, we realised how well it is being maintained. The staff's dedication, cleanliness and overall management are highly commendable. We offer our heartfelt respects to Sri Shankar Guruji, who established this wonderful institution. People who wish to support children and vulnerable individuals can also consider initiatives to Donate to Orphanage and contribute towards their care and well-being.
We were able to witness the meaning of the saying ‘Service to humanity is service to God’ here. We will continue to extend our support and cooperation in the future as well. We sincerely thank every member of the ashram and pray that all of you will soon be reunited with your families. Once again, we extend our warm wishes to everyone on the 80th Independence Day. Independence Day Celebrations at Amma Nanna Anada Ashramam were truly a meaningful occasion that brought students, teachers and orphanage residents together in the spirit of patriotism, compassion and humanity.
